Performance & MPG
This entry into the hybrid market is a great one, with specs that promise and deliver on power and performance. We'll take a closer look at these qualities next.
The Wrangler 4xe comes equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV engine. Coupled with this engine is a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster, and 8-speed automatic transmission. And those electronics and battery are sealed and waterproof up to 30 inches in depth.
As you can see, the Wrangler 4xe packs a lot of power. But what are some tangible results? Well, for starters, this electric SUV generates 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of instant torque.
It all wraps up to be a nice package that'll get you through those unexplored trails or rocky terrain. But before we move on, let's see what it achieves mileage-wise. The Wrangler 4xe reaches a combined 49 MPG. Thanks to that battery, you'll be able to go beyond the distance.
Safety Features
It is important to consider the safety features of a vehicle, and we'll highlight some of those what neat features you can expect to keep you safe.
The first one to feature is the available Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection. These rely on radar-based sensors to detect other vehicles in your spot zones or crossing behind you. Which is great for the rush hour commute or moments of heavy traffic.
Next is the available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking that alerts you when it senses a potential front impact and will automatically engage the breaks if you don't respond. This active technology is going to be critical if you're driving in densely populated areas.
Another is the available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go. This feature automatically adjusts your driving speed to maintain a pre-selected distance from the vehicle ahead. You set the pace here with this feature, and it's a great one to have on the highway.
And finally, the available Automatic High-Beam Headlamps can sense when they're needed and when they're not. They add an extra precaution while extending a little courtesy to oncoming traffic. For example, late night rides or that occasional foray into the woods.
Infotainment Options
Staying connected while on the road is critical in this modern age. The Wrangler 4xe comes equipped with the Uconnect® 4C NAV with an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Also included is navigation that helps guide you to where you need to go, including ATMs, restaurants, and more.
The Uconnect® system also allows for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities. Through Uconnect®, you'll be able to call all your contacts, listen to playlists, have texts read to you, and other satisfying features.
