The 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK is a fun vehicle to drive around St. Louis, Chesterfield, Kirkwood and Missouri. But there are times when maintenance will be necessary to keep the car in proper driving condition. That's where the team at Glendale Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram comes in.Â
We've put together this convenient maintenance schedule guide to talk a little bit about what to expect out of your Wrangler JK, and to explain when maintenance should be performed. Read on to learn more!
Oil Changes
First, we'll talk a little bit about oil and oil changes. This vehicle is equipped with an automatic oil change indicator system. This system will tell you when an oil change is needed, eliminating the guesswork from oil changes altogether. Typical operating conditions can mean the oil lasts up to about 10,000 miles, but that could change depending on how the car is driven.
For example, if you use the Wrangler JK for short trips or extensive towing, the oil change light could turn on as early as after 3,500 miles of driving. You should never exceed 12 months/10,000 miles when it comes to an oil change. We'll reset the indicator system light and perform other maintenance as needed, too.

That includes:
- Tire rotation
- Battery inspection
- Brake system check
- Exhaust system maintenance
2 Years/20,000 Miles
After two years of driving, the brake linings and parking brake function will be inspected. The parking brake should be functional, and your brakes should be road-ready and prepared for any situation. The cabin air filter will also need to be replaced at this point. This filter keeps dust and pollen out of the cabin, so it's easier to breathe clearly when using the air or heat.
The front suspension will receive a look, and front and rear axle fluid will be checked, too. This oil is needed to lubricate the axles and keep all the drive components at a proper temperature while driving.
3 Years/30,000 Miles
Replacing the engine air filter keeps potential contaminants and sludge away from the engine. It will need to be replaced at this point. This filter keeps the pollutants, dust and dirt away from the engine. However, it will clog if not replaced, so we'll swap out the old one.
10 Years/100,000 Miles
Spark plugs have one job: to make sure the engine can start and run as it should. If you've felt the engine misfiring or the car turns over a few times before starting, it could be because the spark plugs are worn. And if fuel efficiency is suffering, it could be a spark plug issue, too.
When spark plugs are wearing down, it can cause the battery to work harder, which drains it faster. We'll replace the spark plugs after 100,000 miles.
